One of the trumpet players in our big band brought in a Sonare trumpet tonight, from the music store where he works. It is a German built trumpet with a Cliff Blackburn leadpipe.
As comparison, we have a Strad with a 72 bell, a Strad with a 37 bell, a Schilke(B2 I think), and a Conn V1. All four of us played it for at least one chart each and were all impressed by the eveness of the blow in all registers.
It also seemed to have more core and better projection than any of our regular horns, except maybe for the Schilke.
My opinion would be if you are in the market for a new trumpet, you owe it to yourself to give the Sonare a try.
Anyone else had any experience with the Sonare? _________________ Bb's- Vintage One, Strad
