I always saod that the secret to playing a good improv is not thinking and just doing. Listen with your heart and just do it.
Lately I've been in an improv funk -- my heart must not have any ears, and I'm thinking about the fact that I shouldn't be thinking so much.
What do you do when you get into an improv funk? If you're like me play a lot of classical and forget jazz for a while. Problem is that I've got a huge gig in February -- two sold out shows where I'm one of two headliners. No pressure there!
