Hey guys I've come up with a new idea but I wanted to see what you all thought first. Instead of having a category called "horns" I was thinking that I could make a whole different section called Trumpet Brands and Models. In that section woul be about 7 or 8 of the major trumpet brands(Yamaha,Bach,Kanstil,Getzen etc.) and then another category called "all other brands". What do you guys think? Also, what should the major 7 or 8 brands be? Oh, it would look something like this:

Trumpet Brands and Models

Bach
Discuss Bach trumpets.

Yamaha
Discuss Yamaha trumpets.

Kanstul
Discuss Kanstul's line of trumpets.

Getzen
Talk about every Getzen trumpet; from beg. to pro.

Conn
Talk about Conn trumpets
Other Brands etc.
Discuss other trumpet brands,(from expensive Eclipses and Monettes to cheap Schills and Bessons)

I think that is a great idea! It would make this forum unique and different from other trumpet forum instead of the same old,same old...ya know.? The brands should probably be Yamaha,Conn,Bach,Getzen,Kanstul,Jupiter,King.

I would suggest for individual makers Bach, Yamaha, Schilke, Conn, Olds, Getzen, Benge, and King, since those have been the leaders in design and improvements for many years. Kanstul, Monette, Taylor, Eclipse, Jupiter and others are relative new comers in the area of quality instruments.

Another idea that just hit me is divide it up by key of trumpets. Have a forum for Bb, C, D, Eb, etc. That way if someone is looking for a specific key they could go to one forum and read opinions instead of jumping from forum to forum.

That sounds like some good ideas. I'll have to see what the other members say before I can do anything though.

Ok. Since 5 people have said that it's a good idea and none have opposed I'll try it for awhile. We'll see how it works out. Chris
