Do I have a freak?I recently picked up a King Tempo cornet at a flea market. It was like new except that the main tuning slide was stuck. After freeing the slide I started playing it a bit. I am amazed at the performance of this little horn. The tone can be as dark as midnight if a deep cup mouthpiece is used. Conversely, it can become a brazen hussy if I stuff a shallow bowl cupped mouthpiece into the receiver. In every way, this thing is excellent. For a cheapie horn I am not only impressed, but, very pleased with my $10.00 purchase. The lacquer finish even looks good and, no dents or major scratches.
