How longHow long must you go without playing to be considered a comebacker? Does anyone know of an instance where they were better when they came back than before?

It really all depends...Usually over 5 years.

I have been off for more than 15 years. I have been practicing for 6 weeks. Tomorrow I will fly to NY to take a few lessons with J. Callet. I went to one of his clinics 30 years ago but did not use his tech. any thoughts????

I was off for for over 20 years. I started my comeback 12 years ago and was making no progress until 2 1/2 years ago when I started private lessons.
I am now much better than I ever was. It takes a lot of work. Private lessons gave me a structure to my practice time.
The amount of time it takes will depend on your practice routine and the time you put into it.
Just keep working.
