Olds Studio

I am interested in knowing if anyone has played an Olds Studio Cornet and if so how it stacks up with other older cornets that can be had on the Ebay market.

Hello T.C. I sent a earlier post are reply. But maybe did not go through. If you can find one of Jason Blome's recent posts on the Trumpet Herald. He should be able to answer any questions on a Studio Cornet. He recently bought one off e-bay. I believe he is a semi to pro player. You may be able to reach him at this e-mail adress. BLOM4755@1bc.edu Let me know what he says. Are have him post it for all to read on this olds site. I have a early 1960's OLDS tri-metal Special cornet. It plays pretty good for a small church setting and hymnals. Depending on m. p.;s will play very dark to bright. I like it a tad better than my olds ambassador cornet. I would love to own a Olds recording.Opera, and A6 ambassador cornet. I know a pro player in Australia that has a A6 cornet. And plays it against the Bessons, etc and it holds it own with any of them. And he plays it with its 7C olds m. p. Smile
