What exactly is a pre UMI King? I personally don't like today's Silver Flairs because of the large bore, although the first valve trigger is pretty cool.

pre UMI Kings
In my humble and sometimes faulty opinion, the only King instruments worthy of that name were those made by H.N.White. The quality went rapidly downhill with the Eastlake,Ohio horns. Remember, this is only my opinion. I played a King Silvertone Super 20 for my last two years of high school and all through college, and, for about three years after college, until someone thought that I had no further need for it. They took it from my B.O.Q. at S.D.Cal.. Never to be seen again. I miss it desperately. It was one of the three best trumpets I have ever played.

Flair
I have a post HN White Silver Flair. It would be late 67, early 68. It is a great horn. Very free blowing, slots well. deadly quiet and fast valves. I personally love it.
