Quick Question

Can the corks on spit valves (not the Amato ones) mold, like after a long time?
HarryMarks

I have never seen any mold on a water valve cork but anything is possible. If you are in doubt, just have the cork replaced. It is cheap and you usually don't have to leave the horn.

Yes, they can and will. I have a student Conn 1050B and the spit valve corks did mold...but I think that's because I was in middle school and never cleaned the darn thing.

Just get them replaced if you think they're bad. It's not a big job to do.
