Thanksgiving day activitiesMy wife and I are almost ready to leave for church,( I am ready. I am now waiting for her to be ready. After church we are going to my stepdaughter's house for a large family dinner. This includes my stepdaughter, her husband, their three little girls, My son in law's brother and his wife, and my son in law's parents, my wife and myself. It takes a B I G turkey to feed that bunch.
If I can stay awake after dinner, I 'intend' to play my cornet for about two hours. I know, "the best laid plans of mice and of men".
In a reflective mood, I wish that everyone in our nation,because this is a federally mandated holiday in The U.S.A, was able and in a position to be truly thankful. With so many horrible things happening recently to the people of our country, I fear that many will not be very thankful. Those of us in better circumstances should voice our thanks in their place, then, help the less fortunate to make changes, so that they can become truly thankful. A sharing of the blessings that we have received with those with much less will give the less fortunate valid reason for thanksgiving.
