For me it was Into the Storm by Robert W. Smith. I played it back in Junior High. It was an exciting peice. What are some of your favs?

Sketches on a Tudor Psalm

Sketches on a Tudor Psalm in 1975 in High School in Deerfield Beach Fla. We toured Europe 5 countries in 17 days and that was our highlighted piece for contest in Holland.

Great memories!

I would have to say several instead of just one…….

Variations on America – Charles Ives
Blue Lake Overture – John Barnes Chance
Trittico – Vaclav Nehlybel
Symphonic Movement – Vaclav Nehlybel
Crown Imperial – William Walton
Irish Tune from County Derry – Percy Grainger
Lincolnshire Posey – Percy Grainger
Sheperd’s Hey -- Percy Granger
Third Suite – Robert Jager
Incidental Suite – Claude Smith

I'm only in Junior High so the best peices I've played so far are:
Emerald Isle
Into the Storm
Great Locomotive Chase
His Honor March
Guest

Two of my favorites would have to be 'Toccota for Band' (i can't remember the composer) or 'Lincoln Portrait' by Copland.

I dunno, I guess "We Will Rock You"by whomever arr. for a young band.
I'm only in beginner band, so we haven't done much.

Hey, don't feel bad about being a beginner! Everyone starts somewhere, right? I played that piece in middle school band. You're right, it is a lot fun! Keep with it, and you'll get to play a lot more fun stuff! Go for it, trumpet/cornet is fun.

Right now we're playing a piece called, "Symphony for Band" by Vincent Pursechetti (can't spell the last name off the top of my head). It's a lot of work, but it's really fun, and the parts are so intricate. I love it!
