Hey, don't feel bad about being a beginner! Everyone starts somewhere, right? I played that piece in middle school band. You're right, it is a lot fun! Keep with it, and you'll get to play a lot more fun stuff! Go for it, trumpet/cornet is fun.
Right now we're playing a piece called, "Symphony for Band" by Vincent Pursechetti (can't spell the last name off the top of my head). It's a lot of work, but it's really fun, and the parts are so intricate. I love it!
