original mouthpieceI started so long ago,( over 60 years ago ), that I am not certain what mouthpiece I started with. I 'think' that it was a no name that came with my first cornet, a British made Buckingham, about which I can find no background or history.

A Buscher followed by a Bundy with a 7C mouthpiece. Those are the horns that eventually led to the development of the Bach TR300. They realized they could make more money selling brass under the Bach name so the other brand names were no longer used. It also led to brand loyalty which helps to sell more Strads. Back then they were actually pretty decent horns for a beginner.

I also started on a Conn Director when i was 7 yrs old. I played on a 7c for a few years. then in 7th grade went to a 1.5c and a strad.
Now after these years i am still palying a strad , but a 1.5B instead, heh.

When I switched to brass from woodwind in high school, I grabbed an old Bundy out of the closet with a Bach 7C.

I started on a German-made Argonaut with a Herco 7C mouthpiece. It was okay for then. That went on for one year until I got an early Elkhart Bach with a Mt. Vernon 3C. At 12, I didn't really know what I had. If I knew then what I know now.... ''

I don't remember the trumpet and mouthpiece I first had, (it was a rental and it was 57 years ago), but after my folks saw that I was serious about playing they bought me an Olds Special that came with an Olds 3 mouthpiece. I found the mouthpiece in the bottom of a drawer a few months ago...don't know how I ever played on something so small.
