I am finally in trouble with my wife. She is not upset about the amount of money that I spent on "another damned horn", but, for the lack of space in my office with piles of trumpet and cornet cases taking up so much room.
I saw a trumpet case on a table at a yard sale, as I was driving by. I couldn't resist. I stopped and found an as new Bach TR 300. After dickering with the guy over the price, I showed him the last $16.40 in my pockets. He let me take the horn. Now, what am I going to do with it? I have read that this model is great, and that it is junk. Which is it? It is currently in the bathtub getting a bath, probably the first it has ever had. Should I resell it, or, play it in the New Horizons band and the local community band? It is nothing special, but, it does seem to play well enough. My wife thinks that I should hold a specialty yard sale with nothing but horns, woodworking tools and muzzleloading rifles. She thinks that with the proceeds we could go back to Europe for an even longer vacation than the one to England that we just returned from.

Let me know when the yard sale is.............I'll be there for everything your selling!! I had a TR300 at one point and I quite liked it. Some people do say theu are dogs and yet my trumpet teacher who is a working pro has a TR300 that he loves and he plays it regularly. Although he has a number of Strads as well. Let me know the date of the sale.......I'll bring cash.

King Cornet
Today I received my King Cornet that I bought the other day on ebay for $41. I gave it a good bath and greased up all of the slides, and oiled all of the valves and started tooting tunes on it right away. I was surprised that it was in such good shape. The first horn I owned was a King (Silver) cornet circa 1930 and played it for about 2 years before changing over to trumpet. This King student line cornet is probably a better horn than the one I started with so I am going to have some fun with it. Sure would like to see all of those horns Lou and if you get stuck with any and still need to sell any I would like to join the crowd in buying them. Isnt Life Grand?
