yoHi. I'm 14 and going into my freshman year in high school. I have been playing since I was 7 and taking private lessons since i was 11. I own 5 horns and a clarinet. My favorite has got to be my Bach Bb-origanally owned by my dad. Its a 30 year old 72*/43 in silver plate with gold trim. The great thing about it is the fact that it was a total accident!! My dad decided since he didn't like the 43 or the 72 he'd put them together and see what would happen. Man did it come out well. I'll never need another Bb in my life. But anyway, if you want to know more about me or my instruments check out www.lemieuxtrumpet.com

Yeah well it's the one filling the C trumpet fund!!
My dad got it for me for Christmas. I consider myself very lucky to have had most of my horns paid for by parents. The rest are on my own though!

If I may ask, where are you going to school and with whom do you study?
I grew up in Fairfax and went to W. T. Woodson High School. I studied with John Wright of the USMC Band in Washington (The President's Own) and also with Adel Sanchez of the National Symphony Orchestra. I also studied percussion privately with Sam Evans of the Army Band.
The DC area is so great as a place to grow up as a young musician. Our band and orchestra programs were wonderful, and I had the wonderful experience of being in the apprentice organization of the National Symphony and played many times under the direction of Antal Dorati. Every weekend we could go hear the symphony, or a military band, or go to Wolf Trap or the Kennedy Center for a show.
I love living in Louisiana and would never want to move again, but I miss so many great things about being in the DC area.

I'm going to Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt MD. I might try out for Baltimore School for the Arts next year. I study with a great guy named David Kellert. I'm also going to try out for some of the good youth orcestras this year. I definataly agree about living in DC. I can go to concerts anywhere from U of MD to the Kennedy Center!!
