It is a pain, but you could go to the students home. Or perhaps a school or church near by would let you use some space for a small fee. A church might even let you use space in exchange for playing with any specials were they would like to use a trumpet. Good luck on finding a good working space.

A school was probably your best choice. If not maybe you could play at a public park.

You may check out local music stores. Many have studios for rent to teachers.
